The date of the Yorkshire Meet is fast approaching.
The Yorkshire Dales has some excellent climbing and is well worth the trip;
From the Gritstone crags at:
Crookrise (newly aquired by the BMC),
Almscliffe
Brimham Rocks
Limestone sport at Malham or Kilnsey(!).
For the less climby types, there is excellent walking, superb natural mountain biking and the *best* caving in the entire country for the Speleologically inclined. I’m also reliably informed that Pateley Bridge has an excellent pie shop too.
Guidebook-wise there’s
– “Yorkshire Gritstone” volumes 1&2 and “Yorkshire Limestone” from the YMC
– “Northern England” and “Northern Limestone” from Rockfax
– This most excellent website: http://eurospeleo.uk/caves/descriptions.php

I’m looking to book at Catgill Campsite next to Bolton Abbey but am open to suggestions if anyone knows anywhere particularly good.

As usual – this is an informal meet so you’ll have to organise who you climb with, but I’ll keep people updated with who’s going and who needs a lift.
Let me know ASAP if you’re keen along with the dates you can be there and any offers of transport.
As a starter for 10:
I’m working in the dales the week before and after so I’ll already be there! Available to climb from Friday 14th to Monday 17th and don’t have a climbing partner. Also potentially happy to guide a cave trip but need some notice so that I can arrange kit.

Best regards,
