Beginners Multipitch – Snowdonia

I’ve volunteered to organise this year’s IMC beginners/improvers multi-pitch climbing weekend which is in Snowdonia on 7/8 July.  It’s a great area with plenty of climbing at all grades.

This is a great opportunity for those whose outdoor climbing experience is currently limited to single pitch venues to learn the additional skills needed to climb safely on Britain’s larger mountain cliffs. For “improvers” who have already been multi-pitch climbing with more experienced partners, the meet provides the opportunity to gain the confidence to head out independently with others of similar experience.

This meet is not suitable for complete beginners – you should at least have attended our single pitch beginners meet or have similar experience. You should also ideally have some mountain walking experience and kit as some of the crags we visit involve this, although there are also multi-pitch crags in the area that are nearer the road. Please let me know if you are unsure about your own experience and I will try to advise.

Please note that the number of places available is dependent on the number of leaders we have, and that first response doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to come. We’ll do our best to accommodate on a first come first served basis but, with a limited number of leaders, it’s also sensible to take account of who will gain most from the meet.
