Martin Hore has volunteered to co-ordinate a club meet in North Wales on the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend 6 – 8 May.
The plan will be to camp at Dol Gam campsite near Capel Curig which is ideally placed for climbing or walking in the Ogwen Valley or Llanberis Pass – top areas for rock climbing and/or hillwalking and scrambling.
If you would like to join the meet but don’t have climbing partners or walking groups arranged as yet please let Martin know and he will try to put people in touch.
This isn’t an ideal area for newcomers to climbing. For those new to outdoor climbing, we have our club beginners climbing weekend on 20/21 May in the Peak District, and there will be other follow-up opportunities during the summer.
Please let Martin know if you would like to come, and whether and when you would like, or could offer, a lift, so he can help co-ordinate travel. Also, please say if you would be interested in a pub meal on the Saturday or Sunday evening – I’ll go with the favourite choice.
Hoping to hear from you and hoping there’ll be some good interest in this meet.
