Hi Everyone

I’ve volunteered to fill the gap that had arisen in the IMC meets calendar for the weekend of 1 – 2 July.

My plan is to camp at Rushmere Farm in the Wye Valley. This pleasant campsite is just a few minutes drive from Symonds Yat Rocks, one of the best Wye Valley venues for easier rock climbs. The other Wye Valley climbing venues of Shorn Cliff, Wintours Leap and Wynd Cliff are also quite accessible.

These are all limestone cliffs with grand views of the River Wye. They are mostly trad climbing venues, but there is also some good sport climbing in the Wye Valley.

The campsite is about 4 hours drive from Ipswich – so only a little further than the Peak District.

Any club members are welcome to join this meet. It’s not suitable for complete beginners to outdoor climbing, but if you have been on one of our outdoor beginners weekends and would be interested in joining this meet do please get in touch to discuss. There is also plenty of good climbing in the Wye Valley for those with more experience.

Some of us are interested in extending the weekend to the Monday and Tuesday 3 and 4 July.
